Section 3-Device Information
The device information section of the PowerAlert Console provides the user the device being viewed as well as alarm status for any power device being monitored on the computer system by PowerAlert.
Tripp Lite Logo
Clicking on the Tripp Lite logo will launch a web browser session and connect to Tripp Lite's web site
Engine Address
Provides the IP address of the PowerAlert Engine that is currently providing information to the PowerAlert Console.
Device Name
This field will provide a list of all power devices being monitored by Power Alert. By clicking on the arrow on the field will cause a drop down box to appear, listing all devices connected to the computer system. If there is only one device on the system then the field will be empty. If there are more than one the default naming convention is Dev 1, Dev 2, etc. Go to the Settings menu and select the Device sub-menu button define a device name that is more descriptive and identifiable. The next two fields display the manufacturer and model of the monitored devices.
Manufacturer
Displays the name of the manufacture of the power device being monitored.
Model
Displays the device model
Location
By default this fields is empty. To define the device location click the Settings menu and select the Device sub-menu button to define a location for the device.
Alarm Status
This field provides a quick and easy way to identify if any of the devices on the system are operating normally or if an alarm condition exists. If you have more than one device being monitored then an alarm on any device on the system will cause the alarm status icon to change even if the alarm is on a device different than the current one displayed on the PowerAlert Console.
Device
Identifies the device that has the alarm condition.
Cause
Displays the cause of the alarm such as UPS on Battery
Response
Displays the PowerAlert's response or a possible user response to the alarm. For example, if a UPS goes to battery and PowerAlert is configured to shutdown the operating system in the response field a message will appear saying "operating system is shutting down in xxx minutes."
Device button
Clicking on the device button will cause PowerAlert to display the information of the device that is in an alarm condition
Logs button
Clicking the log button will bring up PowerAlert's event log in the data section (Section 2).
