Tripp Lite’s New Ultra-Strong Cables Stand Up to Rigors of Active Use
Three styles fit all popular USB and Lightning connectors
Chicago, IL (June 24, 2019)—Tripp Lite, a world-leading manufacturer of power and connectivity solutions, is addressing the need for USB cables that withstand the frequent and rigorous use that goes along with charging mobile devices. The company’s new Ultra-Strong USB Cables are made with state-of-the-art materials designed for applications requiring extra durability.
“Charging cables used with mobile USB devices often are pulled, strained and generally heavily used. This can affect the cable’s performance or damage the cable to the point where it stops functioning,” said David Posner, Tripp Lite’s Director of Product Marketing, Connectivity. “To counter such stresses, these robust cables are constructed using UHMWPE and Aramid fibers, which exhibit incredible tensile strength to reinforce the conductors inside the cable.”
These materials are lightweight, yet incredibly durable. UHMWPE is a type of thermoplastic polyethylene with high-impact and abrasion resistance. Aramid is a strong synthetic fiber used in bulletproof clothing, marine ropes and fire-resistant materials, as well as in military and aerospace applications.
Ultra-Strong USB Cables have a double-braided nylon jacket that helps maintain top performance and long life. Integral strain relief gives the cable extra flexibility, reduces stress and helps the cable move freely without cracking or breaking away from the connector. Gold-plated contacts provide maximum conductivity and minimal data loss.
The cables come in three styles: USB‑A to USB‑C, USB‑A to USB Micro‑B and USB‑A to Lightning connector. All styles are available in lengths of 3, 6 and 10 feet. Cables with Lightning connectors are also available in a length of 1 foot.
